Facebook is testing a feature allowing users to create multiple profiles. It came as a surprise to everyone when Facebook changed its guidelines on user identity.

Facebook has imposed stricter rules over the years about using “real names.” But, this trial allows users to create multiple accounts under different pseudonyms, nicknames, or personas.

You will not only be able to create your page, but you will be able to build your professional page, as well as your political page. Share information separately with friends and family members if you wish.

Users with multiple profiles will only need to sign in on their main account using their real name. If extra profiles don’t do anything illegal, like impersonating or harming others, they may use different identities.

In light of TikTok’s explosive growth, (READ: Facebook Plans to Compete with TikTok) Facebook reportedly wants to distinguish itself from its competitors by improving its image and appealing to young users. As part of the redesign, the company will focus more on recommendations and less on sharing posts from friends.
