Samsung Exynos 1480 4nm SoC with 2.75GHz clock speeds now official

Tech giant Samsung recently unveiled the details of its latest octa-core processor, the Samsung Exynos 1480. It is built on a 4nm process!

The said processor is powering the Samsung Galaxy A55 5G, which was released earlier this March.

For specs, the Exynos 1480 SoC is equipped with two (2) Cortex-A78 cores running at 2.75GHz and six (6) Cortex-A55 cores running at 2GHz. It is accompanied by the AMD RDNA 2-based Samsung Xclipse 530 GPU and the AI engine with 6K MAC NPU.

It’s the first midrange chipset with Xclipse 530 GPU based on AMD RDNA architecture!

The brand claims an 18 percent increase in multi-core performance and a high 53 percent GPU improvement over the previous generations.

For connectivity, the Exynos 1480 chipset features Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3.

It also supports up to 200MP in single-camera mode, single-camera 64MP @30fps, dual-camera 32+32MP@30fps, up to 4K 60fps, LPDDR4x, LPDDR5 memory, UFS 3.1, GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, Galileo, and FHD+ display @ 144Hz.

As of the writing, the Samsung Galaxy A55 5G is the only device equipped with the Exynos 1480.
