Apple has been bringing various innovations for their iPhone flagship and throughout time, many have become the lineup’s loyal and even considered the handset as a status symbol. However, iPhone-users and non-iPhone users alike we’re stunned by Apple’s go-to on the iPhone 7.

The handset is looking to remove the handset’s 3.5mm jack, which is practically one of the most important ports of a smartphone. Despite many petitioning and even ridiculing Apple for the move, the plan seems to be finalized and Apple themselves should be launching the iPhone 7 without this particular port.

Why would Apple remove the 3.5mm jack?

There were many reasons as to why Apple might be wholly removing the 3.5mm jack on the next iPhone. One, in particular, is that they are somehow using this sacrifice to heighten the phone’s functionality, with the full intent of giving the handset a waterproof feature. As soon as the news hits, this was one of the major reasons as to why they are going forth on ditching out the 3.5mm jack.

However, with leaks and rumours regarding future iPhones to move over to OLED, we can safely say that there must be a more elaborate reason. In theory, the headphone jack is one of the most important ports of the iPhone, since users are mainly going to use the port a lot, however, Apple themselves is looking to compensate using a lightning port and by doing so, hopefully, people would be more open to the possibilities. This possibility revolves around its display’s size.

It seems that somehow, Apple might be looking to increase the screen size of its future handsets, which when connected to the recent leaks of transitioning over to OLED, means that the iPhone might be going above 4-inchers and possibly even above HD and FHD displays. This means that we might actually see a 5.5-incher or 6-incher resolution heavy OLED display in the near future, which is quite a breath of fresh air on the lineup. If that’s the case, then Apple might still have a way to go, but nevertheless, it’ll be a good to see it unfold.

Apple’s Opportunity

Many have been gravely disappointed by Apple’s move  and some even petitioned that they should keep the 3.5mm headphone jack, though, despite this act by iPhone users, Apple seems to be focused more on innovating the handset more. This could arguably mean that Apple might actually lose a few loyal users in the processes, but has the possibility of gaining more.

However, since we’re talking about the iPhone, it is most likely that iPhone users would still patronize that handset, despite some of them not liking Apple’s overall move in removing the headphone jack. This also gives Apple the opportunity to gain more loyal users, since the innovation might get a few individuals to try out what’s new on Apple’s new flagship and if things go on their way, establish them as loyal users.

From one side, it seems that Apple’s move might be a little jaded, however, it from a wider perspective it seems that Apple knows what they’re doing and knows how to keep their market at the same time stay rather innovative on their devices.
