Mozilla released version 97 of the Firefox browser last Tuesday. The new build does not bring any new features and is limited to fixing bugs, tweaking browser features, and making security improvements.

According to Mozilla, the new update implemented support for the new scrollbar style present in Windows 11. Also, V97 dropped a set of custom themes that were introduced in V94.

In all, 18 themes were removed and all arrived in November last year in V94. To keep any of them, just choose from the removed options and use them before updating the browser.

A retry button has also been added to the software’s native capture tool, along with improvements to picture-in-picture (PiP) support and code changes more geared towards web developers.

It is worth remembering that the V97 update is automatically distributed to browser users. Those who downloaded the browser directly from the Microsoft Store should check for updates available for download within the app.

On the Linux system, the download can be done on the browser’s official website or through repositories. Version 96 arrived last January with improvements to the audiovisual experience and protection against cookies.
