Filipino fashion designers have once again showcased local designs that are world-class in quality during the 2nd Manila Fashion Festival Winter | Fall 2015.

The much-anticipated fashion event of the year held last March 19 to 22 at Green Sun Hotel, Makati City aimed to transform traditional runway show with the goal to bridge the gap between local designers and consumersarrow.

I was so happy to have been given the chance to attend my first ever fashion show and this is through the country’s biggest fashion event. How lucky right! I loved how people from the industry are exerting much effort in promotingarrow Filipino talents and being in the global flow.

Although I was only able to be there on the 2nd day – March 20, I greatly treasure the experience I had and I’m so excited to share them with you.

Given that I have pre-registered online for free, I only had to confirm my registration at the information desk and a stamp of ink on my left wrist gave me an access inside.

Before the start of the event, visitors made a tour on the ground floor where different fashion apparels are being showcased.

At around 7:30 in the evening, we were ushered on the 4th floor where the formal program will take place. I was amazed with the setting, not only because it was my first but also the setup was really different from what I typically saw on TVs for fashion shows. It’s not the usual runway with a linear platform with one entry and exit point, but on this is a rectangular one where the spectators are seated around while the models ramp on circle. The lights, sound, ambiance and overall production I would say are very stunning! And I was able to spot celebrities, too!

The crowd is kind of massive so we were on shoulder-to-shoulder space already even before the program starts.

Art Personas CEO Ronnie Cruz opened the Day 2 show of the MMF 2015. On the five-day run of the whole event, six local designer every day are given the opportunity to stage their unique creative fashion designs.

I was also able to rub elbows with different people having different tastes in fashion, adults and youngsters alike. Many giving different perspectives and comments about every design, but one thing is for sure – we were all happy to be there and gain inspiration from the bold and remarkable Philippine fashion event. Looking forward for the next season!
