.On Wednesday, November 30, tech entrepreneur and billionaire Elon Musk stated that one of his businesses would be able to implant a device into a human brain within the next six months that would enable the human to communicate with a computer.

According to Musk, the interface, which would be developed by his business Neuralink, would make it possible for users to communicate directly with computers using just their thoughts.

During a firm presentation, he stated, “We’ve submitte I think most of our paperwork to the FDA (US Food and Drug Administration). And we think probably in about six months we should be able to have our first Neuralink in a human.”

Elon Musk has been working hard to prepare for the first human (implant). He is confident that it will operate appropriately before placing a device in a human.

Musk, who just this past month completed the purchase of Twitter and now controls SpaceX, Tesla, and several other firms, is notorious for making audacious forecasts for his businesses, many of which do not come to pass.

In July 2019, he promised that Neuralink would be able to conduct its first testing on humans the following year in the year 2020.

The prototypes, each about the size of a coin, have been surgically implanted in monkeys’ brains.

During the presentation by Neuralink, the business demonstrate numerous monkeys “playing” rudimentary video games or moving a cursor on a screen through their Neuralink implants.

Musk stated that his company would look into using the implants to improve people’s vision and mobility.

“We would initially enable someone who has almost no ability to operate their muscles. And enable them to operate their phone faster than someone who has working hands,” Musk say. “We would also enable someone who has nearly no ability to operate their muscles to operate their phone.”

Musk has stated that his ultimate objective is to protect human intelligence from being “intellectually overrun” by artificial intelligence. This objective goes beyond the possibility of treating neurological illnesses.
