Don’t Buy an iPhone Right Now!

Given the situation we’re in right now, it’s not the best time to buy a phone, let alone an iPhone. But if you need more reason to keep yourself from doing a big purchase, let us explain to you why you shouldn’t buy an iPhone right now even if the new iPhone SE 2020 is a tempting purchase.

As of writing, Apple is selling five iPhone models with the following starting prices: 

• iPhone SE 2020 – P26,490, 
• iPhone XR – P40,990, 
• iPhone 11 – P47,990, 
• iPhone 11 Pro – P67,990, 
• and iPhone 11 Pro Max – P73,990.

If you’ve noticed, Cupertino is covering the mid-range up to the flagship market of Android phones. But unlike Android, the chipset performance provides a consistent flagship experience despite the age and tweaks. 

Every September, Apple announces its new line of iPhones. This year, we even have an idea as to how the iPhone 12 series will cost if we’re to assume the rumor is true. But even if the rumor is not, the way the iPhone 12 models will be released already gives us an idea of how they will truly cost thus this article.

For starters, there will be four models of iPhone 12 — a small iPhone 12 with a 5.4″ screen, iPhone 12 6.1″ that’s the same size as iPhone XR and iPhone 11, iPhone 12 Pro of the same size as the previously mentioned, and iPhone 12 Pro Max 6.7″. As for their rumored prices, see the breakdown below:

• iPhone 12 5.4″ – $649 (~P32,700)
• iPhone 12 6.1″ – $749 (~P37,900)
• iPhone 12 Pro 6.”1 – $999 (~P50,400)
• iPhone 12 Pro Max 6.7″ – $1099 (~P56,400)

Now, if we’re to match them up with the current iPhone prices, it’s going to look like this:

• iPhone 12 5.4″ – $649 (~P32,700) – P40,990
• iPhone 12 6.1″ – $749 (~P37,900) – P47,990
• iPhone 12 Pro 6.”1 – $999 (~P50,400) – P67,990
• iPhone 12 Pro Max 6.7″ – $1099 (~P56,400) – P73,990

Of course, we’re not saying these prices are final. However, there’s a good chance that the official prices may be around somewhere those ranges. 

The reason why you shouldn’t buy the iPhone SE 2020 is because of the upgrades of the iPhone 12. All new iPhones will come with 5G support and OLED panel. While the new SE model is a tempting purchase, it’s still an old-looking device with a dated display and a small battery. And if you want the latest iPhone device, the iPhone 12 5.4″ looks like it’s going to be priced decently as we’re assuming it’s replacing the iPhone XR. And if you’re itching to purchase an iPhone, you might be left disappointed with the LCD screen of the XR. We also think you’re going to love the form factor of the smallest iPhone 12.

This might also be a good time to invest in 5G. iPhones have great longevity as they can last up to five years. And if you’re planning to purchase a new iPhone this 2020, you might as well get a 5G version and have it ready for the future. The same applies to the rest of the iPhones.
