After launching the iPhone SE 2020, a new iPhone leak is heading our way. EverythingApplePro and Max Weinbach from XDA Developers deliver the high-quality CAD renders of the assumed iPhone 12 Pro Max. We’re still months away from the official announcement of the next iPhones which typically happens around September, however, this gives us a good glimpse of what to expect in terms of design. As seen from the images, the rumors about iPhone 12 having the same design language as the iPad Pro seems to be closer to fact than ever.
The entire body of the iPhone 12 Pro Max is different than we’re used to. There’s no 2.5 curved glass on the back but instead, it now has a flat glass surface. EverythingApplePro managed to 3D print a sample of the device and even shared that the flat sides offer a more comfortable grip. As for the overall size and weight, iPhone 12 Pro Max is claimed to be thinner and lighter than the previous generation. Now, this is something most people will appreciate since the iPhone 11 Pro Max is one hefty phone at 226g. As for those who hate the notch, the render shows a much smaller one. In the video, it’s described to be slightly bigger than the OnePlus 6 notch. Another change that might or might not interest you is the camera hump. Given how ugly the camera humps are on the Galaxy S20 Ultra and Huawei P40 Series in favor of a larger sensor, Apple is taking a different approach. The optics won’t be protruding as much as the previous generation and will be using four cameras. The standard wide, telephoto, and ultrawide will be present, while the LIDAR sensor that’s first seen on the iPad Pro 2020 will be added. Last but not least is the addition of a blue color. It’s not yet entirely sure whether Apple will include a new color but that’s up for deliberation already.
Other than the design, iPhone 12 Pro Max is expected to sport the Bionic A14 SoC. EverythingApplePro will release a video about it in the next few days, so stay tuned for that.
