Xiaomi is waving goodbye to a beloved feature in HyperOS—background video playback, a fan-favorite feature.
If you’ve been enjoying the convenience of watching video playback since MIUI 12, unfortunately, it’s time to bid farewell. The once-praised video toolbox, introduced in MIUI 12, won’t offer the option to play videos with the screen off in MIUI 15 (aka HyperOS).
If you find yourself in need of this particular feature, get ready to subscribe to YouTube Premium because that’s the new way to play videos in the background without any interruptions.
