Recent reports by Digital Chat Station suggested Xiaomi’s move towards a new operating system, MiOS, and the skipping of MIUI 15.
However, Xiaomiui, a dedicated blog covering Xiaomi-related news, has refuted these claims.
Xiaomiui clarified that Xiaomi is actively testing MIUI 15 internally and plans to officially release it alongside the Xiaomi 14 series. At present, there is no concrete information about MiOS.
The blog acknowledged the potential for Xiaomi to transition from MIUI to MiOS, primarily within the Chinese market. However, it emphasized that MiOS, if introduced, would likely remain exclusive to China and not be available globally.
To support its assertions, Xiaomiui presented code snippets demonstrating ongoing MIUI 15 testing on various Xiaomi smartphones. These internal builds were sourced from the official Xiaomi server, ensuring their reliability.
MIUI 15 is presently undergoing testing on several Xiaomi smartphones, including the following:
- Xiaomi 13
- Xiaomi 13 Ultra
- Redmi K60 Pro
- Mix Fold 3
While the possibility of Xiaomi transitioning to MiOS exists, the active testing of MIUI 15 underscores that MIUI will continue to be relevant, at least in the global market, for the foreseeable future.
