TechLife Pad Review

techlife pad

Tech Life, a sister company of realme, has just unveiled its very first tablet, and we’re thrilled to have it for review! Today, we will explore whether the TechLife Pad has succeeded in creating an impressive tablet right out of the gate.

Let’s take a closer look and see how the Tech Life Pad performs, shall we?

Design and Build

Design-wise, the TechLife Pad doesn’t have an eye-catching appearance, but it has a simple yet distinctive look. It offers two different colorways: Graphite Blue and Graphite Grey.

Unlike other tablets I have tested, this one is a bit lighter, weighing in at 453g, and it has a slim profile, making it easier to carry around. It also uses aluminum material for its back panel, which has a matte-like glossy finish.

The back panel is soft but prone to fingerprint smudges. Additionally, the left side of the back panel has a rougher texture, giving it a different look.

Around its frame, the TechLife Pad features the volume rockers and power button on the right side. You’ll find two speaker grilles on the top and another two at the bottom, along with the USB-C port and SIM tray.

Display

Turning over the device, you’ll be greeted by a 10.36 inches display boasting a 1200 x 2000 resolution and a 60Hz refresh rate.

Despite lacking a fast refresh rate, the display delivers quality performance for multimedia consumption. It’s responsive, fairly bright, and offers vibrant colors, making it a good portable device for work, school, and entertainment. However, the display only reaches up to 450 nits of brightness, which can be a bit lacking for outdoor use under direct sunlight.

Overall, while the display isn’t the best, it’s decent for its price range. It has good viewing angles and performs well overall. A higher refresh rate or brighter display would have been a nice addition for better outdoor visibility.

Camera

As for its cameras, the TechLife Pad might look like it has a dual rear camera setup, but it only sports an 8MP rear shooter and a 5MP selfie camera.

The 8MP rear camera delivers acceptable results with good details, decent sharpness, and dynamic range. However, color distribution can be inconsistent in poor lighting.

The 5MP selfie camera produces grainy results with decent colors, though it’s pretty average as tablet users rarely prioritize selfie shots.

For video recording, the rear camera can shoot up to 1080p at 30fps, while the front camera can only manage 720p at 30fps.

Performance

Under the hood, the TechLife Pad runs on an octa-core Unisoc T606, paired with 128GB storage and 4GB RAM, with up to an additional 4GB of RAM expansion.

Even though the Unisoc T606 chip is considered somewhat outdated for a device in 2024 and may occasionally feel sluggish, it generally performs adequately for daily tasks.

We tried playing games like Reverse 1999 and TFT, and while there were some frame drops and stutters, they were mostly bearable.

Battery

The TechLife Pad is powered by a 7000mAh battery with 10W charging. In our video loop test, it lasted about 14 hours and 36 minutes. Charging from 0 to 100% took roughly 2 hours and 40 minutes.

Price

Now, let’s talk about the price. The TechLife Pad is priced at PHP8,999.

You can get it on TikTok Shop until June 30 and on Lazada from June 28 to June 30 for PHP8,499, with TechLife wireless earbuds as freebies.

Despite its lack of features, TechLife offers an affordable tablet with a large high-resolution display, a huge battery, and a decent chip. It performs well enough for basic day-to-day activities. If it had a higher refresh rate, brighter display, or faster charging, the TechLife Pad would have been a steal.

Still, if you’re looking for a budget-friendly device for watching videos, movies, or a larger display for work and school tasks, the TechLife Pad is a solid buy!
