In terms of portability, the Lenovo LOQ 15 boasts a sturdy and robust build, making it a reliable companion for gamers on the go.

With dimensions measuring 359.86mm in width and 23mm in thickness, accompanied by a weight of 2.45kg, it offers a substantial presence. While its design echoes the aesthetic of Lenovo’s Legion gaming laptops, it opts for a more toned-down approach.

Examining its connectivity options, the LOQ 15 features a range of ports strategically placed for convenience. On the left side, there are no visible ports, while the right side hosts a USB A 3.2 Gen 1, USB C 3.2 Gen 2, a 3.5mm audio jack, and a camera E-shutter. Positioned at the rear IO panel are two additional USB-A 3.2 Gen ports, an HDMI port, an Ethernet port, and a charging port, accompanied by a rear-mounted thermal vent for effective heat dissipation.

Design

While the laptop’s design is serviceable, its weight may come as a surprise to some users, and its aesthetics lean towards simplicity rather than standout appeal.

Opening the lid reveals a minimalistic keyboard layout, albeit slightly cramped due to the inclusion of a numpad. The power button, adorned with the LOQ dotted circle logo, adds a touch of elegance. However, the trackpad’s proximity to the keyboard occasionally leads to accidental touches, requiring some adjustment. The speakers, situated underneath the laptop near the front, deliver decent audio quality.

Display

In terms of display quality, the Lenovo LOQ 15 features a 15.6″ FHD+ IPS display with a peak brightness of 300 nits and a 144Hz refresh rate. While we often strive for the highest display resolution, the LOQ 15 still provides a commendable performance.

The fast refresh rate enhances navigation and ensures a smooth gaming experience. Given its price, a 1080P display is reasonable, particularly when balanced with decent performance.

Performance

Under the hood, the LOQ 15 is powered by an Intel Core i5 chip with 8 cores and 12 threads, paired with Intel Arc A530M graphics. The base configuration includes 8GB of RAM and a 500GB SSD, which may feel somewhat limited considering the price point.

In terms of gaming performance, the LOQ 15 handles casual titles capably, with minimal optimization issues. While occasional frame drops may occur, they remain tolerable for most users. However, for those seeking to delve into graphically demanding AAA titles, the laptop may struggle to deliver satisfactory performance.

Battery

Battery-wise, the LOQ 15 features a 60Wh integrated battery paired with a 170W power adapter.

In real-world usage, it offers approximately 7.5 hours of productivity and casual usage, with around 5 hours of gaming before requiring a recharge.

Priced at PHP49,999 for the 8GB RAM and 512GB SSD configuration, the Lenovo LOQ 15 presents a compelling option for casual gamers. While it may not meet the demands of hardcore gaming enthusiasts, its affordability and decent performance make it a viable choice for those prioritizing value.

In conclusion, the Lenovo LOQ 15 stands as a commendable gaming laptop tailored for casual gamers. Its robust build, versatile connectivity options, and satisfactory performance make it a worthy contender in its price range. Whether it’s for casual gaming sessions or everyday productivity tasks, the LOQ 15 offers a reliable solution without breaking the bank.
