YouTube will take an action to LGBTQ creators ad and monetization policy issues

YouTube apologized for the issues that LGBTQ community has been dealing with the policies of ads and monetization in recent months.

There have been problems with content restrictions, anti-LGBT advertisements, and demonetization and stripped ads. The community is thinking that such words like “trans” and “transgender” on their title were the reason it got demonetized.

According to YouTube, its title, and language is not the reason why it got demonetized. However, the company uses a machine-trained content classifier to detect which videos violated its policies, and it was not that accurate saying that “system get it wrong” which is the reason why creators that have been affected by this are encouraged to make an appeal

Through Twitter, YouTube expressed that ‘they want the LGBTQ community feels safe, welcome, equal, and supported on YouTube.

Despite this reassurance from YouTube, most of the feedback it got from Twitter users are negative saying they are doubtful of their actions in solving the problem they’ve been facing.

One of those complaints is from @KdinJenzen saying that YouTube does not outline its specific measures on solving the problem and its improvements with the policies.

It looks like its apology did not satisfy some YouTubers that they need to provide more statements to give it’s content creators especially the LGBTQ community an assurance that they are taking serious actions on such issues.
