OPPO is further bolstering its mid-range phone offerings by releasing the OPPO A72 after launching the A52 first. From the design and spec standpoints, there’s not a lot of different things to take note of. This includes the Snapdragon 665, 5000mAh with 18W fast charging, as well as the side-mounted fingerprint scanner. However, instead of using a 12MP quad-cam, the expected more expensive sibling is using a 48MP main sensor. As for the rest of the three, you have the typical 8MP ultrawide, 2MP macro, and 2MP depth lenses. The selfie camera gets a slight upgrade, too, from 8MP to 16MP.
Interestingly, OPPO did not announce the price of the A72 which is expected to launch in Europe, together with the A52. But to give you an idea, the A52 with 8GB/128GB configuration costs CNY 1599(~P11,400). The A72 will start with the same configuration but the A52 has a cheaper alternative with 4GB/64GB to boot. Unfortunately, the price of the latter wasn’t mentioned as well.
OPPO’s new releases seem to be targeting the market of Realme 6i. But the company needs to do a better job in delivering better value-for-price phone as the Helio G80 chipset is proving to be the best budget gaming SoC right now, and at a lower price, too.
