Now, freelancers and digital nomads have the convenience of cashing in their earnings via GCash, which are often sent through multinational online payment provider PayPal. This partnership between these financial technology companies is set to streamline fund transfers for freelancers who typically work remotely for clients across borders.
The How’s and Why’s for Linking Your PayPal to Gcash
According to data from the Department of Information and Communications Technology, there are approximately 4 million freelancers in the Philippines. Among them, a significant 59% identify themselves as virtual assistants, possessing a wide array of skills ranging from data entry to social media management, website maintenance, and video editing.
Oscar Reyes Jr., the president and CEO of G-Xchange, the operator of GCash, emphasized the importance of PayPal for Filipino freelancers and digital nomads. He expressed GCash’s commitment to providing a seamless platform for converting funds from PayPal.
