
After a lot of rumors surfaced online, Xiaomi has finally launched their latest flagship phone, the Xiaomi Mi 8. Apart from that, Xiaomi added the Xiaomi Mi 8 SE and Explorer Edition to their Mi 8 lineup.
The Chinese Tech giant has a lot to brag about their latest smartphones, especially to their special edition. So here, we look at their differences among the three versions of Xiaomi Mi 8.
The Xiaomi Mi 8 features a 6.21-inch Super AMOLED display with a screen-to-body ratio of 83.8% and a screen resolution of 1080 x 2248 pixels which is also the same with the higher version, Xiaomi Mi 8 Explorer. And lastly, the Mi 8 SE houses a smaller 5.88-inch Super AMOLED Display with a screen-to-body ratio of 81.3% and a screen resolution of 1080 x 2244 pixels. The dimensions of Xiaomi Mi 8 is 154.9 x 74.8 x 7.6 mm same with the Explorer Edition but with slightly heavier phone weighing 177g than Mi 8 weighing 175 only. In addition to this is the Xiaomi Mi 8 SE that has the 147.3 x 73.1 x 7.5 mm measurements weighing 164g.
The two of the Xiaomi Mi 8 lineup got the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 with Adreno 630 while SE is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 along with Adreno 616 GPU. Apart from that, all devices run the latest Android 8.1 Oreo with MIUI 10.
Unlike the Xiaomi Mi 8, the Explorer Edition only offer one variant of RAM and storage with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The Xiaomi Mi 8 offers us 6GB of RAM / 64GB, 128GB, 256GB storage while the SE version is 4GB, 6GB of RAM / 64GB storage.
Going to the optics, all three is equipped with dual camera setup with Xiaomi Mi 8 and Explorer Edition having 12MP + 12MP camera lenses with dual LED flashes. The Xiaomi Mi 8 SE also has a 12MP camera lens but the secondary only has 5MP. As for the front-facing camera, all carry the same 12MP with f/20 aperture which is nice for the cheaper version of Mi 8.
Among the three, the Xiaomi Mi 8 has the highest battery capacity packed with 3400 mAh while the Explorer has the lowest despite that it is the most expensive having 3000 mAh and Mi 8 SE 3120 mAh, all non-removable.
Obviously, the Xiaomi Mi 8 Explorer has the most advanced features with a fingerprint scanner placing under-display that uses pressure sensitivity. Xiaomi is also claiming that it has the first 3D recognition sensor, the first in Android smartphones.
