Two of the best mid-range phones out there right now come from Vivo — the V15 and V15 Pro. Both are great devices, however, there’s a P6K gap that might make you scratch your head if you’re opting for the Pro variant. As to how that translates into features, let’s find out.

Which is a better buy between the Vivo V15 and V15 Pro?
Same design, different displays
Both the V15 and V15 Pro sport the same design language — using polycarbonate material for most of their bodies. However, the latter variant didn’t use glass for a more premium feel. For a more expensive device, it’s expected to get a better design, just not this time.

Both, again, come with elevating selfie cameras, in which we expect from the Pro variant only, but somehow manages to exist on the non-Pro variant. However, it did pave the way for fullscreen displays.
Both come with unobtrusive FHD+ displays — featuring a saturated Super AMOLED screen on the Pro and a naturally toned IPS LCD from the non-Pro. In terms of the viewing experience, expect better picture quality on the Pro variant due to its DCI-P3 100% color coverage.
Slight performance boost
As for performance, the Snapdragon 675 on the V15 Pro is slightly faster and more efficient than the Helio P70 of the V15. Furthermore, only the former device supports up to 8GB RAM.
Moving to the main cameras — both come with triple sensors — 48MP f1.8 main+ 8MP f2.2 ultrawide + 5MP f2.4 depth. However, the V15 swaps the large main sensor for a smaller 12MP sensor with bigger pixel size to help in low-light photography. As for the selfie cameras, it’s a standard affair of 32MP f2.0 sensors with up to FHD @ 30fps video recording.
If you’re the one to rely on Bluetooth-enabled accessories, the V15 Pro should maintain a better connection due to its BT 5.0 technology. But when it comes to battery capacity, interestingly, the V15 has a larger 4000mAh. That’s compared to the 3700mAh on the V15 Pro. However, both still get the benefit of dual-engine fast charging.
With the V series packing futuristic features, only the V15 comes with an old yet highly reliable capacitive fingerprint scanner.
Verdict
The Vivo V15 is priced at P17,999, while the V15 Pro will set you back at P23,999. By spending P6k more, you’re getting a slightly better main camera sensor, futuristic (but slow) biometric, BT 5.0, better display, and slightly faster chipset.
Personally, we think the V15 is the way to go here. The only significant thing that you will miss is the Super AMOLED display. You even get a faster and more accurate fingerprint scanner. If the V15 Pro only came with a glass build, larger battery, and a Snapdragon 710, we could have a different verdict.
What about you? Would that be enough for you to spend a lot more?
