There appears to be a current trend that has emerged with cancel culture. It is to unearth Tweets from a decade ago and examine them through the prism of today’s social standards, leading to public criticism. However, there may be a way to avoid this without “dirty deleting.” Meet the Edit Tweet button, a new feature in the works for Twitter.
For years, Twitter users have wanted the option to edit their tweets after they have been published to correct problems such as typos. These demands have sparked online jokes that Twitter would instead create any other feature, such as newsletters than provide users with their most-requested option.
But there’s a catch. When someone opens your Tweet, they can see when it was last changed. It’s unclear whether this can be viewed before clicking on the post, but for the time being, it can’t. This will make it difficult for those following your account for thousands of Tweets throughout the years to find damning proof. Another feature that many people appear to be interest in is the option to examine Edit History. Which was mentione in the Tweet before it passe through the Edit Tweet tool, similar to how Facebook handles it. Can you alter tweets from before the launch of this feature? We’ll see what happens.
Twitter Circle Is Now Accessible to All Users
According to a blog post, Twitter Blue subscribers who pay $4.99 (around ₱280) per month will soon be able to modify their tweets “a few times” within 30 minutes after publication.
New Twitter Feature Lets Users ‘Unmention’ Themselves
Regardless, this is an excellent method to divert attention away from the platform’s recent internal and external instability. This may motivate more individuals to continue using the service despite its inadequacies and existing challenges. We’ll have to wait and see whether or not it works.
