After months of anticipation, Samsung Germany unveils the battery-king Galaxy M51 with a price of €360 or ≈Php20,800 when directly converted to Philippine peso. Provided the European market always has higher SRPs than the rest of the world — we can expect the handset to be less expensive in other countries. Like how the leak pointed out, the Galaxy M51 debuts the massive 7000mAh battery, which boasts two days of battery life on a single charge. Charging time may be between two to three hours with the bundled 25W brick.
Given that massive battery, don’t be surprised if the Galaxy M51 is thick as heck. On top of that, it’s not your typical mid-range phone as the screen size is 6.7″ diagonal with FHD+ Super AMOLED in tow. However, the fingerprint scanner is embedded on the power button. The main shooter for the camera is the 64MP sensor alongside 12MP ultrawide and a pair of 5MP for macro and depth purposes. The 32MP selfie cam, on the other end, is found inside a centered pinhole cutout. Initial rumors suggest an older Snapdragon 675 to be the SoC of the Galaxy M51, but we’re glad to see a much better Snapdragon 730 that’s also found on the Galaxy A71. Samsung also paired it with 6GB RAM and 128GB expandable storage.
Based on Samsung’s website, the Galaxy M51 comes in white and black color hues. Though there’s no geometric pattern to add to the finish, the overall build reminds us of the Galaxy A31 that retails for P14,990 today.
