Apple is hinting to switch their iPad screens. As of now, the iPad Pro 12.9 is using a mini-LED display while the smaller units are utilizing OLED. Now, according to ETNews, Apple might be changing its screens to OLED by 2022.

The companies that would likely be supplying the OLED screens to the Cupertino giant are Samsung and LG which are currently working on the iPhone 13. The reason why Apple is retiring LCD for their devices is that to improve image quality, weight, and design.

Although OLED screens are not new as some Android tablets use these types of displays but this would pose a challenge considering that Apple is producing 50 million iPads a year. This would surely push companies to invest in expanding production, especially in factories and manpower.

We can expect that Apple will be producing a prototype model and add more features in the process. Also, we can hope that the company would order for its equipment which will concurrently let companies expand by 2022 and production will commence by the year 2023.
