Philippines to Have Single Electronic Government Payment Platform

Electronic Government Payment Platform

Soon, all payments to the government in the Philippines will be made through a single website.

The Land Bank of the Philippines (LandBank), the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), and the Bureau of the Treasury (BTr) worked together to create the electronic Government Payment Platform (eGovPay).

National Treasurer Rosalia de Leon, DICT Undersecretary David Almirol Jr., and Lynette Ortiz, president and CEO of LandBank, signed a memorandum of understanding on August 15, 2023.

The eGovPay platform provides a secure, centralized portal that makes it easier for government entities to take payments.

It was made to make it easier for the government to handle and report data, cut costs related to manual tasks, and speed up the reconciliation process.

As part of the partnership, LandBank will take on the role of eGovPay’s depository bank and cash settlement bank.ph govt to have single payment platform

The DICT’s job is to be the user and application administrator, which means that it oversees the merging of payment service providers and government institutions into the eGovPay platform and makes sure that different payment channels are added to the LandBank’s systems without any problems.

At the same time, BTr’s job is to make sure that all LandBank and DICT-related organizations follow the Treasury Single Account Framework.

This is about making sure that internal revenue taxes, customs duties, and other state fees are collected and sent to the right places.

The eGovPay platform will also make it easier to use digital payments for government payments and collections. This is required by Executive Order 170 and is in line with Republic Act 11032, which focuses on making it easier to do business and giving government services more efficiently.

Also, this project fits in with LandBank’s digital strategy, which aims to make more trustworthy, relevant, and easy-to-use banking services available.

This plan includes adding more physical touch points all over the country and making digital channels that are easier to change.
