Instead of launching as OPPO Reno Ace 2, the device is simply called OPPO Ace 2. It’s an effort to separate the “Ace” brand from the Reno series. Additionally, the new device won’t be made for introducing charging technologies only. OPPO is marketing it as a gaming phone already. The Ace 2 price breakdown can be seen below:
Ace 2 specs feature Snapdragon 865 complete with 5G support. OPPO is claiming that the combination of Wi-Fi 6 and 5G allows the device to reach up to 2950Mbps or nearly 3Gbps download. The Chinese company is also touting the vapor cooling chamber here. At room temperature, the Antutu benchmark returned 608,000 points for Ace 2. With the cooling system turned on, the score can reach up to 625,000. In real-world usage, power consumption is brought down to 12% in some games and the operating temperature is up to 1.4° C lower. That’s a pretty impressive feat especially for a display that runs on 90Hz all the time.
To keep the gaming experience at best, Ace 2 features 4D game Vibration 2.0 for better tactility when playing FPS games. Adding to the experience is a dual-stereo speaker setup with Dolby Atmos technology. For the rest of the device, here’s what you’ll get. A 4000mAh battery with 65W wired charging and 40W wireless charging, aka Super AirVOOC. The reverse charging is also present, however, at 10W only. As for the camera system of Ace 2, it comes with four cameras on the back — 48MP Sony IMX586, 8MP ultrawide, 2MP portrait, and 2MP monochrome. The 16MP f2.4 selfie camera is housed inside a pinhole cutout.
OPPO Ace 2 comes in Aurora Silver, Moon Rock Grey, and Fantasy Purple colors and will become available starting April 20th in China.
