Tablets are making a comeback in 2020 as Lenovo outs budget and high-end big-screen mobile devices for consumers. Dubbed as the Tab M10 HD Gen 2, which is a bit mouthful to say, it has SRPs of P8,990 and P9,990 for the 2GB/32GB and 4GB/64GB models, respectively. Both are arriving locally this October. The Tab P11 Pro, which is the high-end one, will come at a later date; however, we have its specs and features that may entice you in getting one.
Starting with the Tab M10 HD Gen 2, (seriously Lenovo, just rename it to Tab M10 2020), it’s a budget-entry tablet made with kids in mind. Debuting Kids Space by Google, it’s a kids mode available first on this tablet. It provides apps, books, and videos recommended based on the kids’ interests that will also let them discover, create, and grow. On the technical side of things, the tablet has a spacious 10.1″ IPS HD+ LCD with up to 400 nits of brightness. At the core is the MediaTek Helio P22T octa-core chipset, paired with expandable storage through a microSD card slot. The 5000mAh battery can last up to 10 hours of web browsing and up to 8 hours of video playback. Your usage may vary. Interestingly, the battery charges via USB-C already. Though there’s no fingerprint scanner, you can use Face Unlock for that matter. Sold as a separate accessory, the Lenovo Dock is a smart charging station for the tablet. No word yet how much it’ll cost and when it’ll arrive.
For the Tab P11 Pro, it’s taking on the iPad Pro with Magic Keyboard as well as Samsung and Huawei’s tablet-keyboard offerings. The P11 Pro is the company’s flagship tablet, packing 11.5″ 2K OLED with HDR10 and Dolby Vision certifications. The build is also thin as heck, with 6.9mm bezels and 7.7mm overall thickness. Support for Lenovo Precision Pen 2 is present as well. At the core is the Snapdragon 730G, which isn’t the best out there, but strikes the balance of price-to-performance ratio. It’s also paired with either 4GB/128GB or 6GB/128GB alongside the option to expand via microSD slot. The battery is rated 8600mAh typical and fast charges via USB-C. A total of four cameras can be utilized — 13MP+5MP on the back and a pair of 8MP on the front. Though it appears there’s no headphone jack, a fingerprint scanner on the power button is embedded and, a pogo pin connected for the smart keyboard is present. Also sold as a separate accessory, the Tab P11 Pro is tailor-made to work with Lenovo Keyboard Pack for a near-laptop experience.
The local price is yet to be revealed, but in the US, the Tab P11 Pro starts at $499 or around Php24,000 when roughly converted to Philippine peso. With the keyboard, pen, and kickstand bundled in, the price shoots up to $599 or around P29,000 (sans the taxes and import fees).
