Philippine Identification System (or PhilSys for short) provides the government with a unified, centralized means of identifying Filipino citizens and resident aliens. Since the National ID is a separate component of the PhilSys, the National ID serves as an integral part of it.

The registration process is simple and takes only a few minutes to complete. The application is free of charge. In addition, the validity of the I.D. does not expire. We will walk you through the basics of the Philippine National ID System and show you how you can register for a Philippine National ID.

Who can register for a National ID?

Step 2 of National ID Registration is Now Available at Select Robinsons Malls - ClickTheCity

Filipino citizens who live in the Philippines or abroad and of any age (yes! even minors) are eligible to register. People who hold multiple nationalities and foreigners who have lived in the Philippines for at least six months qualify for the program.

Where do I register?

A citizen who qualifies for the program can first register by filling out the online form via register.philsys.gov.ph. Next, they have to book and schedule a face-to-face appointment to complete the process. On the last leg of the process, biometric information is captured by scanning the user’s fingerprint, scanning the user’s iris, and taking a picture of the user’s face in front of the camera.

On the PhilSys Website, you can find a Center near you where you can register. SM Branches nationwide are now offering Step 2. Identity Verification is part of the registration process for your PhilSys National ID, and this is great news indeed.
