There have been a number of fintech companies launched in the Philippines since 2004 and GCash is the fastest-growing one that was introduced by Mynt (formerly Globe Fintech Innovations).
There is no doubt that it is one of the most convenient ways to transfer money from different platforms, such as Paypal, Payoneer, Coins.ph, local banks, and so on.
I am sure you are aware that GCash has come a long way since it first launched in the Philippines. Did you know that one of the first features in the app is the ability to transfer money from PayPal to GCash?
It is as if the company is adding new features as time goes by, such as GInvest, GSave, GCredit, GInsure, GForest, and so on.
The earliest time we were using GCash was when we used to order from Amazon (Shopee and Lazada were not as popular at the time) and GCash was our life saver since they also had their AMEX Card feature that we will also be covering separately in the future. It used to take a lot of time to transfer funds from your PayPal account to your Gcash account. First ensure that your two e-wallet Applications are linked to each other. You can follow these steps below.
Open the GCash app and sign in with your GCash account. On the lower right corner of the screen, click on the ‘Profile’ icon, and then tap on My Linked Accounts.
After you have selected PayPal, choose the PayPal email account you wish to link to GCash and click on ‘Link’. After you have done so, click on ‘Authorize’.
Make sure you are logged into your PayPal account. After logging into your PayPal account, you will be redirected to the PayPal login page. Enter the username and password that you use to log into your PayPal account.
Tap on the ‘Continue’ button after you have confirmed your mobile number. Your registered number will receive an OTP in order to verify it.
The linking process has been completed. You will now be able to add funds to your GCash wallet from your PayPal account once the link has been successfully established. All you have to do is follow these steps.
Transferring money from PayPal to GCash is free, but if this is your first attempt to link your accounts there will be a small fee to process the connection. But do not worry, because when account linking has been successfully completed, it will automatically be refunded to your balance.
The minimum withdrawal amount is 500 pesos, and there is no processing fee. For PayPal withdrawals made by bank transfer, your bank may charge a fixed transaction fee.
In order to increase the security of your PayPal account, it is recommended that you enable two-step verification. Click the Set Up button next to “2 step verification” in your PayPal account’s settings after you log in and go on to your account’s settings.
