Last December, Xiaomi announced in an event in China that it would be releasing a new Android-based OS which will be known as the MIUI 12.5. They also shared their future plans on releasing it in the global market.
At present time, the latest update has been already rolling out in China with its Mi 11 units and in the official MIUI Weibo account, they have released some pretty good news!
The anticipated MIUI 12.5 will not just be coming with the Mi 11 units but will also be available with the Mi 11 Ultra, Mi 11 Pro, Mi 10 Ultra, Mi 10 Pro, Mi 10, and Mi 9 SE. For users of these units in China, you can already manually update your operating system by heading to Settings or you can wait for its arrival as it is already updating some phones as we speak.
The update was officially slated on April 30 but it seems the developers in Xiaomi have finalized it ahead of schedule which its consumers can enjoy as soon as possible.
To those outside China, Xiaomi stated that the first global units receiving the new software will be the Mi 11, Mi 10T, Mi 10T Pro, Mi 10, and Mi 10 Pro. This is expected to be released either this month or in May. For other units, global updates will be officially rolling out in June.
