Malacañang said on Wednesday that a “scan-and-go” technology would be used in place of the electronic arrival card (eArrival card), which will no longer need to be filled out before boarding an aircraft to the Philippines.
The official in charge of the Office of the Press Secretary, Undersecretary Cheloy Garafil, stated that the government would set up separate lanes in the nation’s gateways for individuals who want to adhere to the eArrival card.
The Bureau of Quarantine (BOQ) will no longer require all incoming tourists to have an e-Arrival Card within 72 hours of their departure from their country of origin, as was previously announced by the Department of Health.
The eArrival card can be filled out anytime, before departure or upon arrival. A decision was made during a Cabinet meeting to remove this requirement.
According to Tourism Secretary Christina Frasco, the DOH will set up specific lanes in collaboration with the Bureau of Quarantine for people who still need to complete the e-Arrival card.
