At the recently concluded MWC 2022 held in Barcelona, Spain, many global mobile operators, device manufacturers, technology providers, vendors, and content owners showcased their technologies to the world. They introduced a range of innovations and devices such as smartphones, tablets, laptops, and more.

OPPO Find X5 Pro

Let’s start with OPPO‘s latest flagship offering, the OPPO Find X5 Pro. It is among the Find X5 series that was announced globally at MWC 2022. For specs, it features a 6.7-inch LTPO2 AMOLED (3216 x 1440) screen with a 120hz refresh rate and Corning Gorilla Victus+ for protection. It is powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC but there’s also a Dimensity 9000 Edition. For battery, it packs a 5,000mAh battery capacity with 80W wired, 50W wireless, and 10W reverse wireless charging.

Camera-wise, it sports a triple-rear camera setup consisting of a 50MP wide camera, a 50MP ultra-wide shooter, a 13MP telephoto lens, as well as a custom MariSilicon X imaging chip, and a Hasselblad Natural Colour Calibration. Upfront is a 32MP selfie camera. It is priced at €1,299 (~PHP 74,990).

OPPO Find X5

The vanilla OPPO Find X5, on the other hand, features a 6.55-inch AMOLED (2400 x 1080) panel with a 120Hz refresh rate, a Corning Gorilla Glass 7, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888, and a 4,800mAh battery with 80W wired and 30W wireless charging.

For cameras, it also has a pair of 50MP sensors for wide and ultra-wide, a 13MP telephoto lens, and a 32MP selfie camera. They are also powered by OPPO’s in-house MariSilicon X imaging chip. The OPPO Find X5 is priced at €999 (~PHP 57,670).

Honor Magic 4 Series

Honor also announced its latest Magic 4 smartphone series at MWC 2022. The flagship Honor Magic 4 Pro boasts a 6.81-inch LTPO OLED (2848 x 1312) panel with a 120Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, it comes with the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC paired with up to 12GB of RAM, up to 513 UFS 3.1 storage, and a 4,600 mAh battery capacity that supports 100W wired, 100W wireless, and 5W reverse wireless charging.

The Honor Magic 4 Pro also has a pair of 50MP sensors for wide and ultra-wide shooters, a 64MP periscope telephoto lens with 3.5x optical zoom, and a TOF 3D depth lens. Upfront is a 12MP selfie and a TOF 3D sensor. It is priced starting at €1099 (~PHP 63,300).

There’s also the vanilla Honor Magic 4, sporting the same screen size as the ‘Pro’ version with LTPO OLED and a 120hz refresh rate. Inside, it also has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC, but with a bigger 4,800mAh battery capacity that supports 66W wired, and 5W reverse wireless charging. In terms of cameras, it only has an 8MP periscope lens. It starts at €899 (~PHP 51,780).

realme GT 2 Series

The realme GT 2 Pro series was first unveiled in China earlier this year but was announced globally at MWC 2022. The series boasts a bio-based eco-friendly polymer smartphone back design.

Let’s take a look at the realme GT 2 Pro first. the smartphone boasts a flat 6.7-inch WQHD+ AMOLED LTPO panel with a 120Hz Adaptive refresh rate, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC, up to 12GB of RAM, up to 512GB of storage, and a 5000mAh battery with 65W charging. Camera specs include a 50MP Sony IMX776 main camera with OIS, a 50MP Samsung ISOCELL 150° ultra-wide shooter, and a 2MP microscopic lens with 40x magnification. Upfront is a 32MP Sony IMX615 selfie camera.

The vanilla realme GT 2, on the other hand, sports a 6.62-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 5G chipset, up to 12GB of RAM, up to 256GB of storage, and a 5,000mAh battery with 65W fast charging. It also features a 50MP Sony IMX766 main sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide shooter, and a 2MP macro camera. On the front, it comes with a 16MP selfie camera.

The realme GT 2 starts at EUR 449 (~PHP 25,767) which is the most affordable among the smartphones mentioned here. Meanwhile, the realme GT 2 Pro is priced starting at EUR 749 (~PHP 42,984).

OnePlus 10 Pro

Just like the realme GT 2 Series, OnePlus‘ latest flagship smartphone, the OnePlus 10 Pro, was first unveiled earlier this year and launched globally at MWC 2022.

For specs, it comes with a curved 6.7-inch QHD+ AMOLED panel with an Adaptive refresh rate, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset, and a 5,000mAh battery with 80W SuperVOOC fast wired charging and 50W AirVOOC fast wireless charging.

The OnePlus 10 Pro also features triple rear cameras with Hasselblad Natural Color optimization 2.0 for better and more natural colors. The cameras include a 48MP Sony IMX789 main camera, a 50MP Samsung ISOCELL JN1 150° ultrawide shooter, and an 8MP 3.3x telephoto lens. On the front, it has a 32MP Sony IMX615 selfie camera. OPPO Find X5 Lite

The mid-range smartphone among the Find X5 series, the OPPO Find X5 Lite comes with a 6.43-inch AMOLED display with a 90hz refresh rate and Corning Gorilla Glass 5. Inside, it sports a MediaTek Dimensity 900 5G processor, and a 4,500mAh battery with 65W wired fast charging.

The rear cameras are being handled by a 64MP main wide sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide, and a 2MP macro lens. The front has a 32MP selfie snapper. For OS, it runs on Android 11-based ColorOS 11. Available colors are Startrails Blue and Starry Black. It costs €499 (~P28,780).

POCO X4 Pro 5G

During the MWC 2022, POCO also took the stage to unveil its latest mid-range smartphone, the POCO X4 Pro 5G. It is the only one on the list here that’s now available in the Philippines. The smartphone is priced starting at PHP 16,990.

The POCO X4 Pro 5G features a 6.67-inch FHD+ AMOLED DotDisplay with a 120Hz refresh rate, up to 360Hz touch sampling rate, and Corning Gorilla Glas 5 protection. Under the hood, it comes with a 6nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 5G octa-core processor, up to 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM, up to 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage, and a 5,000mAh battery with 67W Turbo Charging. In addition, it also boasts a 108MP primary sensor, 8MP 118° ultra-wide shooter, and a 2MP macro lens.

These are the best smartphones announced at the recently concluded Mobile World Congress 2022.

There are also many technologies and devices unveiled at the event, such as the five entry-level smartphones from TCL, four handsets from the ZTE Blade V40 Series, as well as the Nokia C21 Series. TCL even showcased its foldable smartphones, although they are just concept smartphones.
