Xiaomi has launched its flagship smartphone, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra, outside China.
To recap, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra boasts a camera system in collaboration with legendary German camera brand Leica capable of recording 8K video, consisting of a 50MP 1-inch size Light Fusion 1050L main sensor with Lateral Overflow Integration Capacitor (LOFIC), a 50MP ISOCELL JN5 ultrawide shooter, and a 200MP 1/1.4-inch APO 75-100mm periscope telephoto lens with continuous zoom from 3x to 4.3x.
At the front, it sports a 6.9-inch M10 AMOLED LTPO panel with a variable 1-120Hz refresh rate, 2608 x 1200-pixel resolution, up to 3500 nits peak brightness, HDR10+, Dolby Vision, 1920Hz PWM Dimming, DC Dimming, and Xiaomi Shield Glass 3.0 protection. There’s also a 50MP selfie camera.
Powering it inside is the 3nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 octa-core processor with Adreno 840 GPU, paired with up to 16GB LPPDDR5x RAM and up to 1TB UFS 4.1 internal storage. A 6,330mAh silicon-carbon battery is also packed inside, supporting 90W wired and 50W wireless charging, along with 22.5W wired reverse charging.
In terms of design, it is the first model in the Ultra line to feature a flat display and is thinner than its predecessor, measuring 8.3mm thick. It also incorporates a micro-curved aluminum alloy frame, reduced camera deco diameter, and higher camera module placement. Available colors include Black, Starlit Green, and White.

Xiaomi 17 Ultra Leica Leitzphone
In addition to the standard variant, Xiaomi also announced the Xiaomi 17 Ultra Leica Leitzphone variant (the Xiaomi 17 Ultra by Leica in China). The Leica Leitzphone retains the specs of the standard variant but offers some extra features and a new design. Its body features a fully black rear panel, unlike the Xiaomi 17 Ultra by Leica’s two-tone design.
The Leica logo and text on the camera island have been rotated by 90°, while the Xiaomi logo has been moved to the center.
A physical rotatable ring is incorporated in the camera island of the device, allowing users to adjust its zoom and exposure. Additionally, the smartphone features Leica Essential mode to help users recreate the image quality and photographic style of iconic Leica cameras, including the Leica M3 and M9.

The Xiaomi 17 Ultra starts at EUR 1,499 (~PHP 101,991). Pricing and availability details for the local market will be revealed on March 2.
