Infinix NOTE Edge Review

After its teaser a few days ago, the Infinix Note Edge is now officially available in the Philippines.

And it is priced under PHP15k, but is this new device from Infinix worth it?

Let’s see what this phone has to offer and whether it’s a good buy. Read on to find out!

Design and Build

The Infinix Note Edge boasts a visually appealing design, characterized by a modern and clean aesthetic. It’s also lightweight at 185 grams and has a thickness of 7.2 mm.

Our review unit comes in the Stellar Blue colorway, but it is also available in Lunar Titanium, Silk Green, and Shadow Black.

Around the frame, the device has the SIM card tray, charging port, and speaker grille at the bottom. On the right side, you’ll find the power button, volume rockers, and another customizable button called the One Tap Button, which users can set to open applications quickly.

At the back, there’s a slightly raised rectangular pill-shaped module housing the cameras, flashlight, and RGB Halo Lighting.

Display

On the front, the Note Edge features a 6.78-inch 1.5K curved AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, 450 nits peak brightness, and Corning Gorilla Glass 7i protection.

In our experience, the device doesn’t feel very smooth during daily use. Switching between applications can feel a bit laggy and less enjoyable than expected.

But it has a wide screen since it has curved edges. Watching movies and videos may feel immersive because of that.

Cameras

The Infinix Note Edge has a 50MP main camera (f/1.8 with autofocus) and a 13MP punch-hole selfie camera. Both the rear and front cameras support 1440p video recording.

The rear cameras deliver decent results for casual purposes like quick photos, document scanning, or simple snapshots. However, the images can appear somewhat pale and less vibrant, so it might not be ideal for social media posting.

For everyday use, the cameras are acceptable, but if you’re a heavy content creator or active in social media posting, this phone might not meet your expectations.

Performance

Under the hood, the device is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7100 (6 nm) chipset paired with a Mali-G610 GPU.

And since the Note Edge is the first device to use this chipset, we were curious about its performance.

Well, it works well for social media scrolling, video streaming, messaging, and light tasks. However, for video editing, we noticed occasional lags and slowdowns.

The device also tends to heat up quickly, even during phone calls. If you rely heavily on calls or content creation, this is something to keep in mind.

Battery and Charging

On paper, the Note Edge packs a 6,500 mAh battery with support for 45W wired charging.

In our experience, the device lasts more than a day with casual multimedia and entertainment use, making it a dependable option for daily use.

It also supports bypass charging, which allows the phone to operate directly from the charger while bypassing the battery, reducing heat and preserving battery health.

Price and Verdict

The Infinix Note Edge is priced at PHP14,999 for the 8GB + 256GB storage variant.

Overall, the Note Edge is a good choice for those looking for a large-screen device with a long-lasting battery and a modern, premium look.

However, if you’re into content creation, photography, or heavy multitasking, you might want to consider other options.

At the end of the day, the Infinix Note Edge is a solid device for everyday and casual use.
