The Redmi MAX TV 86” features a 120Hz Refresh Rate with 4K Resolution

Xiaomi’s sub-brand, Redmi had just launched its new line of products in their Redmi K40 series event. In the event, they showcased the new RedmiBook Pro 14/15, Redmi AirDots 3, and the new Redmi MAX TV 86”. Let us look at the latter product and see what Redmi has set for us.

For its display, it has an 86-inch LED-backlit LCD panel. The Redmi MAX TV also packs 3840 x 2160 pixels of resolution (4K) and includes a 120Hz refresh rate which the previous model doesn’t have. A MEMC feature is included as well.

With this TV, it supports 10-bit color, HDR, HDR10+, HLG, Dolby Vision, and even covers 92% of the DCI-P3 color gamut which includes color accuracy of ΔE ≦2. It will as well include a 178° viewing angle.

For its chipset, the TV has a quad-core CPU using the ARM Cortex-A73, ARM Mali-G52 MC1 GPU. It also features 2GB RAM and 32GB internal storage. When it comes to its software, it has an MIUI for TV 3.0 and also includes content integration and smart features such as Xiao Ai voice assistant and more.

When it comes to connectivity, the Redmi MAX TV is supported by dual-band Wi-Fi, Infrared, 2 X USB Type-A, AV, ATV/DTMB, S/PDIF, Ethernet, and 3 x HDMI. It also has three HDMI ports and one features a v2.1 with support for 120Hz VRR (Variable Refresh Rate) and ALLM (Auto Low Latency Mode). This will surely be a plus for PS5 and Xbox Series X and Series S owners to experience 4K 120Hz gaming in full.

The TV also features 2 x 12.5 speakers that have 25W sound output. It also comes with Dolby Atmos and DTS-HD.

For its price and availability, the Redmi MAX TV 86” would be priced at ¥7,999 or $1,239 (PHP60,407 rough estimate) and would be available in China on March 4. However, there is still no news on when it will be available internationally.
