Realme’s sub-brand Dizo has been busy last year launching new products in the audio and fitness category. Although some of those products are rebranded into Realme units, some of the recent releases have been unique to the brand just like this one that we are holding.
This is the Dizo Watch 2, at first it may look like a Realme Watch 2 because of its design and build but what makes the Dizo Watch 2 special? Keep on reading to learn more.
Pros
Good build quality
Good battery life
Budget-Friendly
Cons
No A-GPS support
Minor Bugs
There is not much to talk about on its unboxing since once you lifted the cover you will be greeted by the watch itself, and underneath is the manual and the charging cable. There is no extra strap in case of replacement and unlike the realme watch 2, its charger is not round.
With its contents out of the way let’s talk about its design and build. It has a rectangular base which is quite generic, but the way it was built and the finish makes it look premium. it boasts a 1.69″ touchscreen display paired with a normal TFT LCD panel. There is no specified resolution for this product however the color reproduction is as good as it gets. It is sharp and vibrant, plus it has a good amount of pixel density and all of that is protected by a 2.5D glass that blends nicely into the outer rim. This is pretty much a good screen for an entry-level fitness watch.
What was surprising is that in this price range, Dizo opted for a zinc alloy frame rather than a plastic build. With that, it adds a bit of sturdiness to its build quality but it does add a bit of weight to it. It weighs about 50 grams along with its strap, which is 10g heavier than the realme watch 2 Pro. It is not the lightest smartwatch around but also not that heaviest either.
It comes with 4 color variants, the Golden Pink, Ivory White, Silver Grey, and the review unit we have the Classic Black. Those other color variants offer a glossy finish that is prone to fingerprint smudges, while this one has a smooth matte finish.
The strap is not that distracting to the wrist even if you are wearing it for almost the whole day. Also, the strap has a standard 22mm width and can be replaced with any other third-party straps as long as it matches the default.
Over to its back, you can see the Sp02 and heart rate sensors along with its charging points.
The Dizo Watch 2 has a Bluetooth 5v for its connectivity but it doesn’t have its own built-in GPS so there will be a small margin of error to its data. Although it is good enough especially for its price.
As for pairing it, you will have to install the Dizo app via the google play store or scan the QR once you unbox the device. With the app, you can freely customize your watch with tons of watch faces. You can choose either a Mechanical or Digital face based on your liking. So you pretty much have a ton of options to personalize your Dizo 2 Watch.
Swiping up it will lead you to the list of applications that are installed in the Dizo Watch 2 itself, you also have the option to set it via list or nine tiles just like an app drawer. The UI is pretty much basic and very easy to navigate. If you have been using a Realme fitness watch before, this is pretty much the same. In sum you have 4 navigation options, swipe up for the app drawer, down for notification list, left for quick settings, and right for a handful of widgets, like daily activity progress, sleep info, heart rate, weather updates, and music playback.
Via the app just like the Realme Watch 2 Pro, you can set reminders for sedentary, drinking, and even alarms. It has vibration features so that it can notify you about your set reminder, and It will also notify you that you received a notification from the apps on your phone but that is only it.
Now for the features of the watch itself. It has apps like stopwatch, timer, breathing training, heart rate sensor, Sp02 sensor, weather, and find my phone.
The Dizo 2 Watch offers tons of sports modes to help you with your workout. This is a great feature to have especially if this kind of device is advertised as a sports and fitness companion. Unlike the Realme Watch 2 Pro, you cant add or remove workout modes via the app.
Sports Mode – Outdoor run, Outdoor walk, Outdoor Cycle, Indoor run, Strength training, football, basketball, cricket, badminton, jump rope, rowing machine, elliptical, swimming, yoga, mountaineering, and lastly free training.
Swimming is included since the watch has 5ATM water-resistant so you can dive into the pool wearing it.
With all those features mentioned in this watch, we want to know if the battery life can support or even keep up with its performance. The watch packs a 260 mAh battery that claims to offer up to 10 days battery on a single charge. As for our testing, it took us 9 days and a half before it runs out of battery with the brightness set to low and only limiting your notification options. For battery life, it is already impressive for its price.
Overall the Dizo Watch 2 is an affordable yet premium-looking fitness watch. With the price of Php 2,629 pesos, it’s one of the bangs for the buck smartwatches you can purchase at the market. It has the basic features that you are pretty much looking for in a smartwatch, plus the solid build quality and battery life. there are some features that it lacks but considering its price it is already a win.
