Philips is introducing a new product ideal for graphic professionals at home office. The Philips 27B1U7903 is a new monitor with good specs that should compete in a more affordable price segment.

With a robust yet discreet look, the monitor features a panel illuminated by Mini LED technology to offer high contrast and more energy efficiency. Its IPS screen measures 27-inch and delivers refresh rates of just 60Hz. The native resolution is 4K (3,840 x 2,160 pixels), promoting a density of 163 ppi.

Philips has applied 2304 dimming zones to achieve the high contrast ratio of 1300:1 with peak brightness at 1400 nits when displaying HDR content. These specifications elect the monitor to VESA DisplayHDR 1400 certification, attesting that it covers 95% of the DCI-P3 range, although the manufacturer advertises this index as 97.2% coverage.

In standard dynamic range (SDR) view, the monitor displays peak brightness at 1,400 nits with a response time of 4 milliseconds in GTG, reiterating that the peripheral is not suitable for gamers.

For the connectivity, it can connect the monitor via a DisplayPort 1.4 port or two HDMI 2.0 ports. The device includes two 3W speakers and a P2 headphone jack. There is also a board with 4 USB ports.

For now, the suggested price or release forecast in regions other than China has not yet been revealed by Philips.
