Dizo Bud Z Review

Last time we did a written review of the Dizo watch 2. Now since Dizo is a sub-brand of realme they also put out TWS earbuds alongside others accessories. They have their share of audio accessories that is under the name of Dizo like the GoPods, GoPods D, and the Dizo Wireless headset. Today we have an affordable midrange TWS, the Dizo Bud Z. Let’s dig deep into its features and the quality that it gives.

Pros
  • Comfortability
  • good Sound Quality
  • Supports Fast Charging
  • Water-Resistant
Cons
  • Only Supports SBC Codec
  • Unreliable Microphone
Design

The case of the Dizo Bud Z is shaped like a soap. It is compact and lightweight plus it has a matte finish. The earbuds weigh about 3.7 grams each and 36 grams for the case in a total of 43 grams.

The Dizo Logo is located on the front under the LED indicator that indicates the pairing status and the battery as well. Underneath is the USB Type C port which supports fast charging.

Once you flip open the lid, inside it is no longer a matte finish. It now has a glossy finish on the other side of the lid and the earbuds themselves. There is also a purple accent on its earbuds. They also included extra rubber ear tips in case the one that is currently attached doesn’t suit your comfortability. Although its body is quite big the fit of the earbuds is decent and it doesn’t fall out easily.

Pairing & Connectivity

The Dizo Buds Z offers Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity so connecting the earbuds to a smartphone won’t be too much of a hassle. If you already paired your Bud Z to a phone, once you open up the lid as long as the Bluetooth on your mobile device is turned on it will automatically detect and instantly pair with it. Its pairing range is up to 10 meters but of course, the connection will be weak if you are in a different room.

Functions & Controls

There are no buttons on its case or the earbuds themselves, so you will rely on its gesture-based touch controls. The Dizo Bud Z offers a double-tap gesture on the earbud that will play/pause the music, a triple-tap will change the song, press & hold (either side) will reject the call, press & hold on both sides simultaneously will turn on the Game mode (Super Low Latency).

The Bud Z can also be accessed via the realme link app, which will allow you to customize its touch functions, manually enable game mode and sound effects, and you can also update its firmware.

Sound Quality

It is packed with 10mm dynamic drivers that have a decent and balanced sound profile. Mids and Highs are not that strong and the bass is quite boosted but you can balance that as well in the realme link app. Although some would prefer higher-end TWS but considering its price, we did enjoy our overall video and music playback. The built-in ENC (Environmental Noise Cancellation) feature works well at keeping ambient sounds at bay for the person at the other end of the call.

Battery

For its battery, the earbuds are packed with a 43mAh of battery each while the case packs a 380mAh of battery. The earbuds can pretty much run the whole day on a single charge including the case, but if you prefer using it individually it can last you about 9 hours in total without using its case. As for charging, It will take about 1-hour to juice up the buds via the case and 2 hours if you charge them all together.

Verdict

Overall the Dizo Bud Z is priced at Php 1,499 and it offers decent sound quality, impressive battery life, and the Super low latency feature which is great for gaming. It has a compact build and lightweight design plus its instant pairing which will be great for everyday use.

  1. Dizo Bud Z is a perfect fit in listening to music especially like on Spotify. If you don’t want buffering issues in listening to music, might as well try Streamtech fiber internet. It is fast and reliable ISP so you could listen to music smoothly.
