Originally scheduled to be announced during MWC 2020, ZTE has finally introduced to the public its Nubia Red Magic gaming phone. Here’s how Nubia Red Magic is priced in China which is expected to roll out on March 19th:
A global release of Nubia Red Magic is expected to happen sometime in April.
ZTE’s Nubia Red Magic has an interesting design going on for a gaming phone. Unlike the black and red color options, the gradient version has a soft red and blue-green hue that makes the device look like it’s out of a video game. With that said, gaming is the sole focus of this device as it even features shoulder triggers on the right-hand side, similar to Xiaomi’s Black Shark 3 Pro. The company claims an improved 300Hz touch rate and nearly-instant 2ms touch delay. However, there seems to be no mention of a pressure-sensitive display. Even if it won’t be present, the 6.65″ is enough to impress anyone. The screen features FHD+ resolution in a 19.5:9 aspect ratio while allowing a 144Hz refresh rate for an AMOLED. It’s even faster than the 120Hz of OPPO Find X2 Pro and Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra.
With the Snapdragon 865 chipset, Nubia Red Magic is capable of dual-5G standby. Like most gaming phones today, ZTE’s latest gaming phone has a cooling system of its own. It features an L-shaped cooling pipe that’s aided by Active Liquid-Cooling with Turbo Fan 3.0 version. By increasing the airflow volume by 30%, the device is claimed to be 200% cooler than its predecessors.
