Unveiled just last week, Nothing’s revolutionary messaging platform, Nothing Chats, aimed to bridge the gap between Android and iOS devices, a feat accomplished through a partnership with Sunbird.
However, despite the initial excitement, user concerns quickly surfaced regarding the service’s security and privacy. In response to the feedback, the UK startup led by Carl Pei, Nothing, has made a significant move by pulling the beta version of Nothing Chats from the Google Play Store.
Nothing’s official statement mentioned that they “will be delaying the launch until further notice to work with Sunbird to fix several bugs.” The specific bugs were not disclosed, and the statement did not directly address the raised privacy issues.
We've removed the Nothing Chats beta from the Play Store and will be delaying the launch until further notice to work with Sunbird to fix several bugs.
We apologise for the delay and will do right by our users.

This innovative app empowered Nothing Phone 2 users to exchange messages seamlessly via iMessage, showcasing as those coveted blue bubbles on the iOS platform. Not stopping there, the app also supported texting through the RCS protocol for Android devices, including SMS and MMS.
Do you think Nothing will address these concerns promptly and reintroduce a more secure Nothing Chats app to the Play Store?
