Now that we’ve finished reviewing the Xiaomi 17, let’s talk about Xiaomi’s latest offering in the tablet market, the Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro.
Read more to find out what it has to offer.
First, let’s discuss its design and build.
There’s nothing drastically new about its overall look. But when it comes to tablets, the design language is usually kept simple, right? And Xiaomi continues that approach here.

Our review unit comes in the Blue color variant and still uses an aluminum chassis, giving it a premium feel in hand.
The brand maintains a clean, minimalist aesthetic, combining an Apple-like design.
In real-world use, the tablet doesn’t feel too heavy despite weighing 485 grams. It can be used one-handed with ease, but for extended periods, it’s better to prop it up on a table.

You can pair it with Xiaomi’s Focus Keyboard to use it like a laptop, although our review unit did not include the accessory.
Next up, display. The tablet features an 11.2-inch IPS LCD display, similar to its predecessor. It supports HDR10, Dolby Vision, HDR Vivid, a 144Hz refresh rate, and up to 800 nits of peak brightness.

For binge-watching shows, the display delivers a great experience. Colors are vibrant, details are crisp, and viewing angles remain solid.
The bezels are fairly slim for a tablet and do not negatively affect the overall viewing experience.
Outdoor visibility is decent, although not the brightest in its class, but still usable under most conditions.

Overall, the screen performs well for both productivity and multimedia consumption, consistently delivering quality visuals during our time with the device.
Cameras are not the main selling point of most tablets, and realistically, many users prefer their smartphones for photography.

That said, the Pad 8 Pro features a 50MP rear camera and a 32MP front camera.
It captures decent photos in good lighting conditions, but for more serious photography, a smartphone remains the better option.

One of the key upgrades for this generation is performance.
The Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro now runs on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 3 chipset, offering faster speeds and improved efficiency for gaming and heavy multitasking.

In daily use, we experienced no slowdowns, even during intensive multitasking.
We also tried editing 4K videos. Importing large files takes a bit of time, but overall performance stayed smooth and reliable.
Productivity can be further enhanced with the Xiaomi Focus Pen and keyboard accessories. For gaming, we tested Where Winds Meet on high settings and encountered no performance issues.

Benchmark Results
The tablet is backed by a 9,200mAh battery paired with 67W wired charging.
During our test, one hour of playing Where Winds Meet reduced the battery from 98% to 86%.

In our experience, that’s about four hours of continuous gaming. Battery performance is solid for both entertainment and productivity use.
The Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro is available in two configurations:
Overall, like its predecessor, the Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro offers strong value for money.
It’s a solid choice for users looking for a tablet with pen and keyboard support, capable of handling gaming, productivity, and multimedia tasks.

Its main downside is the use of an LCD panel instead of OLED. However, despite that limitation, the Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro remains a competitive and well-rounded tablet in its price segment.
That wraps up our review of the Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro. What are your thoughts on its performance? Let us know in the comments below.
