Huawei will be launching its new set of flagship phones later this month. According to a Weibo post, the official page of the company, the phone will likely be named the Mate X2 which is somehow a follow up from the original Mate X than the previous version, Mate XS, which is faster and slightly altered.
With scarce details, it shows on the image that the Mate X2 will have similar features as Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold line. This has a different screen design accompanied by a flexible panel on the inside. In contrast, the previous Mate X version includes a single panel that wrapped around the outside when closed, similar to Royole’s Flexpai devices.
Hopefully, we can get more details on February 22, where Huawei will be giving out full details on their new device. It is somehow still unclear but most likely the Mate X2 will be using the same Kirin 9000 processor which was present with the Mate 40 Pro. Also, with the Huawei ban still ongoing, Google apps will be likely not be included for now, unless the Biden administration would change it.
