How to Disable Android Keyboard Vibration

While typing, some people enjoy the tactile feel of keyboard vibrations, and most keyboard apps include slight vibrations. This feature is also referred to as “haptic feedback.”

I’m not too fond of the vibrations whenever I type. This is mainly because I type fast, which bugged me, especially when it vibrates continuously.

You have access to a vast array of various keyboard apps, much like you do with other aspects of the Android ecosystem. We’ll walk you through disabling the vibration feature on two popular keyboard apps: Google’s Gboard and the Samsung Keyboard by default.

How to Turn off the Gboard Keyboard Vibration

Gboard is compatible with all Android-based smartphones and tablets. This keyboard may already be set as your device’s default; if not, you can download it from the Play Store and make it your default keyboard.

First, enter some words into a text box to bring up the Google Keyboard. You can get there by pressing the gear/settings icon to access the app’s settings.

Next, go to “Preferences.”

Scroll down to “Key Press” and turn off “Haptic Feedback on Keypress.”

How to Turn off the Samsung Keyboard Vibration

First, swipe your Samsung Galaxy screen down once from the top and tap the gear icon. Alternatively, you can go to your settings application directly.

Click on “General Management” next.

Choose “Samsung Keyboard Setting”

Scroll until you see “Swipe, Touch, and Feedback.”

Turn “Vibration” off.

That’s it! Your keyboard will no longer vibrate when you are typing.
