Globe Telecom Inc. has taken more than 58,000 SIM cards off its network because they were used in digital crime, especially the spread of text message scams.
According to records, Globe banned 58,234 SIMs that were linked to fraud in the first semester. This was part of a larger effort to stop cybercrime groups from taking advantage of the fact that more people are doing business online.

Compared to the 17,851 SIMs Globe stopped during the same time period in 2022, this number grew by more than three times each year.
Globe’s chief information security officer, Anton Bonifacio, said that the company used the #StopSpam site to find these mobile numbers that were being used to send out text scams. Globe has a way for customers to report calls and texts that are suspicious.
