Globe Telecoms said on Monday that it had stopped more than 2.2 billion scam and spam messages in the first half of 2023.
In a statement, the company said that from January to June of this year, almost four times as many illegal actions were stopped as during the same time last year (615.01 million).
Globe said that the number is getting close to the full-year record of 2.72 billion messages stopped in 2022.
The company said that its increased fight against fraudsters goes along with the government’s enforcement of the SIM registration law, which aims to cut down on hacking, if not get rid of it altogether.
