The world’s most compact laptops

ASUS launched the new lineup of the ZenBooks last week at an exclusive event held in Okada Manila. The company showcased the addition to the ZenBook family, the ZenBook 13, ZenBook 14, and ZenBook 15. Dubbed as the world’s most compact laptops, do these laptops really live up to their title?

First is the design. The look of the new ZenBooks can make you feel a little nostalgic since it has the same look and feel as the ZenBooks that were initially released in 2011 – but with twists that make it more enticing. The new ZenBooks are in glazing aluminum Royal Blue and Silver design, with s silver or rose gold ASUS logo. The gold accents make the new addition to the Zenbook family more stylish and elegant than ever.

The three new ZenBooks have a 4-way NanoEdge bezel display that measures only 2.8mm on the smallest and lightest variant, which is the ZenBook 13. Even with the ZenBook 15’s 3.99mm display measurements, it’s still near-bezeless for its size. Another satisfying thing about ASUS’ new ultrabooks is that even with the ultra-thin bezels, the company did not sacrifice its web camera. The web camera is still located where it should be, whereas other laptops with almost bezel-less screen had to compromise and put the camera somewhere else.

Going to the next exciting thing on the ZenBooks 13 and 14 – both include the exclusive new NumberPad. It is a LED-illuminated numeric keypad built into the touchpad. With just a tap on the little button on the upper right corner of the touchpad to illuminated the Numpad. Unfortunately, this is not available on their bigger brother, which is the ZenBook 15 since it already has a dedicated Numeric Pad.

ASUS also promises that their new ultrabooks will be able to withstand extreme environmental conditions since it has Military Grade Certification.

The new models feature a full complement of high-performance components including the latest 8th Generation Intel Core i7 quad-core processor with integrated Gigabit Wi-Fi optimized for Intel Wireless-AC 9560, and up to NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Max-Q graphics. The ZenBooks 13 and 14 has NVIDIA MX150 to boost performance, especially in post-processing/video editing tasks.

On the other hand, the larger ZenBook 15 can be configured with up to a GeForce GTX 1050 Max-Q GPU and comes with 16GB of RAM paired with 512GB of PCIe NVMe SSD storage. All three new models run on Windows 10.

Despite its slim and lightweight body, it is packed with a large battery and powerful components. These ultrabooks also didn’t fall short on ports. There’s a full-sized HDMI for connecting to external displays, a reversible USB Type-C Gen 2, a USB 3.1 Type-A, and an additional USB port. Alongside the ports mentioned, a micro SD card reader is also included. Though if you prefer connecting your devices wirelessly, you can connect them via Bluetooth 5.0.

These new products from ASUS were announced during the IFA 2018 and will hit the stores nationwide by October 2018. Interested in getting a new laptop? Here are the prices:
