For our first sample set, these photos were taken at our veranda. As you can see, the Vivo V11 and OPPO F9’s output looks identical while the shot on the Huawei Nova 3i stands out with a brighter and more vibrant result. As for the clarity, the three are at par as they produced detailed and sharp results.
These shots were taken at the same place and time as the previous one but with 2x zoom enabled. When you look closely on the Vivo shot, it looked a bit dull compared to the others and some noises and grains are visible as well. Going to the OPPO’s shot, it’s less grainy from the Vivo V11′ photo and color-wise, it has deeper blacks and strong saturation. The Huawei Nova 3i shot, on the other hand, remains consistent. It is still the output with the brightest and more vibrant result.
The portrait mode was turned on when we took these shots. If you look closely, you’ll see how the V11 and F9 have the strongest bokeh effect, and with the three shots sitting side by side, the Nova 3i’s bokeh effect seems almost non-existent. Color-wise, the Vivo V11 shot has the highest contrast while the OPPO and Huawei’s photos both have high brightness.
For these shots, we have the HDR mode turned on. The Huawei Nova 3i’s photo has the more contrast that even the shadows look a bit darker than the others to the point that some of the leaves on the tree looked dark. It produced the most strong looking output out of the three. The OPPO F9 and Vivo V11 produced vibrant photos but with the V11 leaning on to a warmer tone, and the F9 with a cooler toned photo. In addition, the details on the Vivo V11 shot is sharper than the latter.
Our next sample photos were taken inside the Okada Manila. Overall, these three sample photos look alike. When you take a closer look at the carpet on the Huawei sample photo, you’ll see how its color differs to the two, it gives a cooler tone while the Vivo and OPPO produced warmer results. As for the clarity, the three are at par once again.
These photos were also taken at Okada Manila and we decided to turn on the HDR mode. Surprisingly, the OPPO F9 shot is significantly darker than the Vivo V11 and Huawei Nova 3i shots. Thanks to the backlight feature on the Vivo V11, it produced the brightest output out of all three. Also, the Huawei gave out a great and bright shot as well. Looking at these shots together, the Vivo V11’s sample photo is the most instagrammable.
Another sample set with the portrait mode. Same with the previous shots, the Vivo V11 has the strongest depth effect, second by the OPPO F9, and lastly, the Huawei Nova 3i shot. On this sample set, however, contradicts some parts the previous results. The Huawei Nova 3i has the brightest output and the Vivo V11 with the darkest and more contrast. And the OPPO F9 staying neutral.
On this photo sample set, the three only varies in brightness and a little bit of contrast. Again, the Vivo V11 shot with the most contrast, the OPPO F9 shot at a balanced level, and the Huawei Nova 3i as the brightest.
For our night-lit assisted shot, the Huawei produced the most vibrant and brightest result once again. Second is the Vivo V11 shot. A bit surprised that the OPPO F9’s photo looks faded on this one – that it looks like it has been color-graded with a gray tint.
The three handsets produced great selfies, thanks to their AI Beautification technology. Aside from the AI Beautification mode on, we also turned on the portrait mode. The photo that has the strongest bokeh effect is the OPPO F9’s. While the photo with the most natural looking skin goes to the Vivo V11. The skin complexion on the Vivo V11 shot is fair from the face down to the chest area of the subject.
Even the selfies that were taken during the night were also great. Noise and grains are visible but not distracting. For us, the selfie on the Vivo V11 depicts closer to the real look of the subject, as well as the lighting.
After laying out the results on all three, which smartphone under PHP 20,000 do you think has the best camera? Price greatly varies with the three, but are you getting the result that you paid for? Comment down below what you think.
