Last week, there was a report that Redmi K40 is coming soon with a 120Hz display and Dimensity 1000+ 5G chipset. However, the new rumor today points out the Redmi K40 series, its key feature, and the release date. According to a post in China, the K40 and K40 Pro might arrive around in the 4th quarter of 2020. What’s more, the chipsets are said to be Snapdragon 775 and SD 875, respectively. It’s the first time we are learning about the two Qualcomm SoCs, so best to take this with a grain of salt.
Xiaomi’s Redmi K30 series is probably the most iterative lineup in 2020. At least five models are sporting different specs, catering to different budget categories. But given how smartphone technology advances every year, it’s a bit easy to tell what new features phones would come. The chipsets might not be surprising but, it’s interesting to see Xiaomi introducing the successors before 2021. After all, the first Redmi K30 was launched last December.
