Google has started rolling out Gemini Go to Android Go devices, bringing its AI assistant to entry-level smartphones with limited storage and hardware resources.
Gemini Go replaces Assistant Go and offers a conversational AI experience designed for devices running Android Go with at least 2GB of RAM.
Users can access Gemini Go through the Google Search app. On supported devices, it can be launched by pressing and holding the Home button or the Power button.
The AI assistant can help with various tasks, including making calls, sending text messages, setting alarms, creating calendar events, and finding local information. It also supports file uploads, allowing users to add documents, photos, and other files as context during conversations.
In addition, Gemini Go can control media playback through voice commands, such as playing music based on a specific mood or activity.
Google said the rollout is happening gradually, which means the feature may not yet be available to all eligible Android Go users.
Availability also depends on the user’s country and device support.
