On Wednesday, an attorney for Twitter sent Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Meta, a letter that accused the company of stealing trade secrets by hiring former Twitter workers.
In the months since Musk bought Twitter for $44 billion, a growing number of smaller messaging platforms like Mastodon and Bluesky, which is backed by former Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey, have started to compete with it. But neither Facebook nor Twitter has said that they will sue them.

Unlike some Twitter competitors, Threads has grown quickly. According to Zuckerberg, 30 million people signed up for the app on its first day. Threads was the most popular free game on the iOS game Store as of Thursday afternoon.
