The 10-gigawatt grid-connected solar farm project is expected to be completed in three years. The solar Philippines has already begun advertising for potential off-taker companies to contract with it.

With a completion date of 2025, SPNEC aims to solve the country’s potential energy shortage by providing electric power. According to The Philippine Star, Solar Philippines Nueva Ecija Corporation (SPNEC) has informed that it has submitted its offers for both off-taker and regulatory approvals but has not yet received a response.

By December 2021, based on government statistics, the solar production is estimated at 1,127.3 megawatts (MW), which will only expand substantially once the country’s solar farms are operative.

The proposed projects in question have the potential to generate nine terawatt-hours (TWh) of chartered energy per year if the Government approves them.

This is a truly disruptive force in the Philippine landscape. One of the projects being developed by Terra Solar Philippines Inc. has the potential to be one of the largest residential solar power plants in the world. Funded by Prime Infrastructure Holdings Inc., Terra Solar Philippines Inc. is responsible for developing 252 megawatts of solar power plants.

During the construction period, 3.5 GW of solar and 4.5 GW per hour of battery storage are planned to build the joint venture to provide Manila Electric Company (Meralco) with 850 megawatts of power on a firm basis, a conventional mid-merit power plant between 8 AM and 9 PM.
