Security Bank told its customers on social media this week that its services and channels had been down for a long time.
Clients said that the bank hasn’t been open for two days, which has made it hard for them to do their normal things. These include the system in the bank’s offices, the ATMs, and the services it offers online.
Because of these stories, the Security Bank posted warnings on its social media pages. It said that there have been technical problems with the way its system works.
In its most recent notice, which came out on July 19, the bank named the services that were affected by the bug.
- Desktop and Mobile Security Bank Online
- DigiBanker
- Cash and Trade Portal
- Salary Advance
- PESONet
- Branches
- Payroll
- eKYC
In a past advisory, the bank also told its users about technical problems.
In the advisory, it said that transactions will take longer to process and account users will have to wait longer to get their money.
@securitybank_ph Since 0900 today you have been offline and no updates from any of your bank or our bank branch. You all are despicable, putting many business owners and depositors in a bad light all because of your INCOMPETENCE! TO this moment, no one could be reached. 😡😡😡 pic.twitter.com/uVXwKQU7Sp

Some Filipinos said that the bank wasn’t giving them information, like when its services would be back up and running.
The customers who complained also thought that the bank’s customer service was poor and unresponsive.

Some Security Bank customers, on the other hand, were upset that they couldn’t get their pay.
Good thing that the bank has now said that its services and channels are back online.
“Please be informed that as of today 1:45 pm, July 20, 2023, our services and channels are back up and available. Operations are business as usual,” the bank said in a Facebook post.
