In an effort to bring back the lost market share of Samsung in India, they finally released the affordable duo for the masses — meet the Samsung Galaxy M10 and Galaxy M20. With prices just below P9k, which of the two should be the right buy for you?
Advantages of Samsung Galaxy M10
Advantages of Galaxy M20
Starting with the design, both are nothing to write home about as they are made of polycarbonate material which lacks the reflectiveness of glass-clad phones. It’s still the same story up front with its curvier “V-notch” design and PLS TFT panel that’s not quite on the same level as an IPS screen. However, the Galaxy M20 will appear sharper as it’s set at 1080p+ resolution.
In terms of performance, we’re getting slightly better processing out of the Exynos 7904 of the Galaxy M20 as opposed to the Exynos 7870 Octa of the Galaxy M10.
On to the camera. Both are sporting 13MP + 5MP combo on the rear while the front will go to the M20 with its larger 8MP sensor.
As for port selection, the Galaxy M10 lives in the past with its micro USB while the Galaxy M20 already uses the standard USB Type-C and a fingerprint scanner. But on the flip side, both come with an audio jack.
Battery-wise, we all know how that goes.
With all said, it seems like Samsung has finally given what consumers want — a decent budget phone. The Samsung Galaxy M10 costs INR 8,000 or around P5,900 Philippine pesos while the Galaxy M20 retails for INR 11,000 or roughly P8,200. Unless you’re really on a tight budget, we suggest getting the Galaxy M20.
