Not to be confused with Redmi Note 9, Xiaomi’s Redmi 9 has been spotted on Lazada Philippines with a starting price of P6,990. It comes in purple and gray colors for the 3GB/32GB model while the 4GB/64GB adds a green color for P7,490. As sold by LazMall Partner, Xiaomi Mall (the same global retailer that sells POCO F2 Pro for P24,950), the Redmi 9 is an upcoming budget gaming phone that’s yet to be released in China. But according to the listing, here’s what you should expect.
Redmi 9 is apparently sporting Helio G80 chipset that’s also found on Realme 6i. Various leaks point out to IPS LCD screen but the listing suggests 6.53″ FHD+ AMOLED. If it is indeed an AMOLED, then Redmi 9 is one of its kind. As for the rest, it has quad-cameras on the back, featuring 13MP, 8MP ultrawide, 5MP macro, and 2MP depth. The selfie camera housed inside the teardrop notch is 8MP. The battery is rated 5020mAh and supports USB-C. We can’t say though if there’s 18W fast charging, but that should be the case considering the Redmi 8A supports it.
While you can pre-order the Redmi 9 to take advantage of the pricing, do take note that you’re not purchasing from Xiaomi’s official local distributor. This also means you’re getting a global ROM version.
